We Build Relationships

With Yoga Teachers & Schools

There are currently 6,100 independent Yoga Teacher Training Schools that have matriculated active yoga teachers in the United States over the last 20 years. These vibrant Yoga Schools are a primary focus.

Yoga Unified implements our Assessment program through Yoga Ambassadors who have been designated Yoga Mentors by our Assessment program.

Similarly our Ambassadors work with

Professional Yoga Teachers who desire to uplift their Registration to a Competency Assessment based Designation of Qualification.

The Issue

Certification vs Qualification

The growth of yoga economy has outpaced the level of support and oversight required to offer competency standards that

lead to a Qualified Designation.

Yoga Unified offers Professional Yoga Instructors and students of Yoga Schools the opportunity to sit for a Competency Assessment covering the 12 Yoga Competencies.

Successful applicants receive a Competency
 Designation of either

Yoga Instructor, Yoga Guide or Yoga Guide.

Our Guidelines For Assessment

Our Pillars of Competency

Yoga Unified builds our Competency Assessments by focusing

on three Guidelines:

i. Educational Guidelines

Our Assessments are an evidence-based and peer-reviewed of the 12 Yoga Teacher Competencies. These Guidelines provide insight into a professional's yogic mindset,

knowledge and teaching skill set;

ii. Ethics Guidelines

Our Assessments inquire into a Instructor's knowledge of the Professional Standards for Ethical Practice in the Teaching of Yoga; and,

iii. Cultural Diversity Guidelines

Through our Assessments we also inquire about class inclusiveness; how

instruction is offered regardless of body-type, ethnicity, minority status, gender, race or financial wherewithall.

Yoga Unified offers its services to Yoga Schools that provide Teacher Training Programs through Yoga Alliance, IAYT or other similar methods of study.

Our assessment program can be integrated into a School's Teacher Training Program as a Matriculating Competency Assessment in the 12 Major Yoga Competencies.

After Schools administer our Assessment we recommend a Competency Designation for each matriculating student as:

Yoga Guide
Yoga Mentor

A fourth Designation 'Adept' is a nomination by a group of
